Kimika

Kimika is a Japanese Italian fusion restaurant.

Thai Diner

Tradisyon

squid adobo, kare kare, popsicles (taho & calamnsi)
This new Filipino fast casual restaurant has all the classic favorites to offer. The portions are good for single serving or you can order several dishes to share! The flavors were on point and definitely hit the spot if you're craving some Filipino flavors.

Katz's Deli

Picture
pastrami sandwich
You can't go wrong with this iconic NY deli with signature sandwiches for all the meat lovers out there. The amount of savory meat that's packed in the sandwich with the smeared mustard makes each bite memorable.

Time Out Market New York

bucatini pasta from Felice Pasta Bar, Pat LaFrieda signature blend sliders from Pat LaFrieda, coconut crab curry from Fish Cheeks
This two floor food hall has a variation of food, dessert, and drinks that are sure to satisfy any craving. Located in DUMBO, which explains the trendy and artsy interior, Time Out Market New York is the perfect hangout spot to eat, chill, and enjoy the views.. Whenever I go to food halls, I love trying dishes from various food vendors instead of sticking to just one. Everything that I had ordered was delicious and filled me up just right.

Udon West (Midtown)

Picture
beef & shrimp tempura udon
Udon West has to be my favorite udon spot in NYC. The broth is so flavorful and the noodles are the perfect size and texture. I went with the beef and shrimp tempura udon, which I would recommend! The beef was nice and soft with just enough flavor and you can't go wrong with having the classic shrimp tempura with it. I would suggest to request the shrimp tempura to come on the side instead of inside the broth if you prefer to keep it crunchy like me (it was good for this photo though).

Midwinter Kitchen

Picture
chorizo biscuits & gravy
A good brunch spot with a small menu that does make it easy to decide what to order. The flavors of this dish were so good and the chorizo was a great change to the traditional biscuits and gravy. It was so good that I did finish the entire skillet (even though I was full and wearing high-waist jeans)!

Prince St. Pizza

Picture
pepperoni square
The last time I went to Prince St. I had the Margherita slice and told myself I would be back to have their famous pepperoni square. It was as good as I imagined it to be! Perfect crust and dough with the right amount of sauce and cheese...and some extremely tasty pepperoni!

Sofia pizza shoppe

Picture
spinach dip & vodka slices
This small pizza shop has a variety of toppings/flavors that will satisfy. The crust is crunchy and the size will fill you up! I personally liked the spinach dip slice more than the vodka.

Russ & daughters

everything bagel with Norwegian salmon & scallion cream cheese (everything on it)
If you're looking for some classic NY bagels then this is one of the top spots to visit. Walk in, take a number, wait to be called in a crowd of other people, and give them your order. You can either order something that's already on their menu or create your own bagel sandwich. The Norwegian salmon that I chose was a little too salty for me, but other than this it's a great place for some NY bagels.

Kame Ramen NYC

Picture
spicy tonkotsu ramen
This small ramen spot in Midtown has about five different types  of ramen to choose from, a couple curry dishes, and appetizers, which made it easy to decide on what to order. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen that was very flavorful and had the right amount of kick to it. My friends decided to try the other ramen options, which were the shoyu ramen and chicken miso ramen - I wasn't a big fan of theirs. I would definitely recommend ordering the tonkotsu if you want something savory and super flavorful! The pork belly was so soft and the fat just melts in your mouth.

Clinton Street Baking Company

wild Maine blueberry pancakes w/ warm maple butter & Spanish scramble
If you're craving some good quality pancakes and just an overall nice brunch spot, this is the place. Their pancakes will be one of the best ones you've tasted with its fluffy texture and crispy exterior combined with its flavorful batter and warm maple butter. That first bite will be an experience you won't forget! The Spanish scramble was flavorful and included chorizo that I'm usually not used to. Instead of the crumbled chorizo, theirs was sliced like a sausage, which wasn't bad. If you're ever in New York, make sure to stop by for brunch and you MUST order their pancakes! *note - they only take cash

Los Mariscos

Picture
especial ceviche
If you love seafood and Los Tacos 1 in Chelsea Market then you're gonna love this spot! They're the same owners as Los Tacos 1, so you know it's good! If you're entering from the inside of Chelsea Market there's a hidden hallway to the left side of Lost Tacos 1 that will lead you to this tiny establishment. The seafood and flavors did not disappoint - come here if you're craving seafood.

Mille-Feuille Bakery Café

Picture
ham & cheese croissant ans café au lait
The best croissant sandwich I've ever had. Ever wish you could relive a first bite? The cheese melts in your mouth when you bite into it and the croissant is so flaky and buttery good. This French bakery is located in the Upper West Side.

Totto ramen

Picture
spicy paitan ramen
Totto Ramen was my first experience having ramen in NYC, which led to my love for ramen. Not only was this my first NYC ramen, but the first meal when landing, which really hit the spot. This ramen spot has a nice interior and is located in Midtown East. *note - they only take cash

Ube kitchen

Picture
adobo musubi
The Ube Kitchen, which was part of Smorgasburg - East River Park, had various unique Filipino inspired snacks. As soon as I read adobo musubi, I had to order it. The first bite into this was filled with lots of flavor. When I had ordered this I thought that it was chicken adobo, and even said "this chicken adobo is good", but don't be deceived my friends! This adobo musubi is actually vegan! What I ate was not chicken, it was jackfruit. So to my vegan people out there make sure to get your food fix on at Ube Kitchen.

Sweet chick

Picture
chicken and waffles
This hip restaurant located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn has an amazing selection of comfort food. The chicken and waffles here has to be one of the best chicken and waffles. The chicken was extremely flavorful and paired perfectly with the crisp and fluffy waffles!

Nishida sho-ten

Picture
tantan ramen
The broth and noodles were both so flavorful and filling. This is a small, tight restaurant located in Midtown East and has an authentic Japanese vibe to it.

Maharlika

flip'd chicken and ube waffles & sampaloc sweet tea
This modern Filipino restaurant is one of my favorite places to go to all thanks to their flip'd chicken and ube waffles. This dish is a Filipino twist to the famous chicken and waffles. Everything in this dish ties perfectly together, down to the macapuno sauce that adds the right amount of flavor. The sampaloc sweet  tea was the perfect refresher to have on the side.

Manila social club

Picture
spam fries, longanisa sliders, ube bread pudding, purple drank
A cozy and urban Filipino restaurant located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The spam fries weren't that special, but the longanisa sliders were good small portion meal. The ube bread pudding was delicious and radiated with ube flavor. If you're indecisive on the drink selection, I would recommend getting the purple drank, which had the right amount of ube flavor in it. This drink was a hit with the whole group that I was with!

High street on hudson

Picture
squid ink bucatini
A nice restaurant located close to the High Line. The squid ink bucatini was delicious and something I've never had before with the noodles being covered in squid ink. There was just enough flavors in this dish.
